Response to Events that occur in the fire alarm device

To those involved in the building where the fire alarm device is installed

 With the shift of the fixed telephone service provided by East Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "NTT East") to the IP network, some fire alarm devices connected to NTT East's subscriber telephone lines. In some cases, an event may not be able to receive a call from the fire department to receive a call.

Outline of event

 By pressing the start button on the fire alarm device, you can make a 119 call without any problem.
 After that, a call is received from the command center of Fire Bureau, and the dedicated telephone for the fire alarm device will sound, but if you take the receiver immediately after it sounds, you may not be able to call.

A 119 call is possible, but cannot respond to the call after the call.

Conditions on which an event occurs

 Events may occur if all of the following three conditions are met:
1 The telephone line of NTT East's subscriber telephone line and a fire alarm device.
2 The telephone line connecting the fire alarm device must have a contract for the following specific services.
 ・Number display
 ・Dial-in service
 ・“Special fraud prevention service” for residential services
 ※This applies to cases where one or more services are contracted.
3. The fire alarm device falls under a specific model.
 ※Please confirm the type of fire alarm device from the website (outside site) of the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

Response method

 The event will be resolved by taking one of the following measures.

1 Cancellation of a specific service.

 Cancellate the “Special Fraud Countermeasure Service” of number display, dial-in service, and housing service.

 Please check the NTT East's website (external site) and contact NTT East for details on the contract status of specific services.
[Remarks]
 It may be necessary to change the settings of the phone.

2 Change to another subscriber telephone line.

[Method]
 Change the subscribed telephone line to which the fire alarm device is connected to another subscribed telephone line (one with no contract for the number display, dial-in service, and "special fraud prevention service" for residential services).

 Please refer to supplier performing installation, inspection of equipment for firefighting.

3. Replace the fire alarm device with a corresponding model.

[Method]
 Replace the fire alarm device with a compatible model.
[Contact]
 Please refer to supplier performing installation, inspection of equipment for firefighting.
[Remarks]
 If you have a PB dial-in service, there are no compatible models. (As of December 2019)

Others

1 If you change the subscriber telephone line or replace the fire alarm device, you will need to notify the fire department.
