Yokohama City Cliffs [Disaster Prevention] Measures Construction Subsidy Program

About grant application of 2024, we start acceptance from April 8, 2024.
The grant application deadline is scheduled until December 27, 2024.

Cliffs that fall under all of the following items are eligible.

• Artificial cliffs such as natural cliffs and retaining walls
• On cliffs where the height from the ground surface exceeds 2 meters or cliffs that may damage roads, etc., cliffs that are more than 1 meter above or 2 meters below the road surface
• Cliffs with an inclination angle of 30° or more
• Cliffs that may damage buildings or roads to be used for living due to landslides

Works that fall under all of the following items are eligible.

• Retaining wall construction or cut / embankment work that requires procedures under the Building Standards Law or the Regulation Law for Residential Land Development, or legal framework construction that can release all or part of the area designated by the Sediment Disaster Prevention Law
• Construction work where the height and position of the cliff do not change

The amount of the subsidy is 1/3 of the target construction cost or the unit price determined by the city ※Amount or limit (4 million yen) calculated based on the above
Whichever is smaller.

※Unit price per square meter of vertical projection area for fiscal 2024 is as follows:
　・Retaining wall construction work and waiting retaining wall construction 99,000 yen/㎡
　・Cutting or embankment work 26,000 yen/㎡
　・Legal framework construction 78,000 yen/㎡

• When we apply for grant of grant, adjustment with Building Disaster Prevention Section and Disaster Prevention Section is necessary. Please contact us in advance.
• If a construction contract or construction has been started before the grant is decided, the subsidy system cannot be used.
• When we receive grant of grant, it is necessary to have you conclude construction contract with company headquartered in the city.
• Please submit a completion report by the end of February of the year in which the grant decision was received.
