About the Sediment Disaster Prevention Law

The "Law Concerning the Promotion of Sediment-related Disaster Prevention Measures in Sediment-related Disaster Warning Areas (Landslide Prevention Law)" is to disseminate dangers in areas where there is a risk of sediment-related disasters, and to evacuate. It is intended to promote software measures such as maintenance of systems, restrictions on certain development activities, structural regulations on buildings, and promotion of relocation of existing houses.

What is the earth and sand disaster alert area (yellow zone)?
It is an area where it is recognized that there is a risk of causing harm to the life or body of residents, etc., when steep slopes collapse, etc., and awareness of danger and maintenance of a vigilance evacuation system are performed.
What is the Sediment Disaster Special Warning Area (Red Zone)?
In areas where it is recognized that buildings may be damaged and significant harm may occur to the lives or bodies of residents, etc., when steep slopes collapse, permission system for specific development activities, structural regulations of buildings, etc. Etc. are performed.

As of September 3, 2024, 2,394 sediment-related disaster warning areas have been designated in Yokohama City, and 2,046 sediment-related disaster special warning areas have been designated.
