1 Please tell us about the relationship between the building site and the road.
A

According to the Building Standards Law, the site of a building must be in contact with the road at least 2 meters. (Article 43, Paragraph 1 of the Act)
In this case, the "road" is a road specified in Article 42 of the Building Standards Law, and it is necessary to note that even public roads and public roads do not fall under the Building Standards Law. Is required.
However, even if the site is not in contact with the road under the Building Standards Law, it is possible to build if the specific administrative agency recognizes that it does not hinder the surrounding situation and permits. This is the permission under the provisions of Article 43, Paragraph 2 of the Building Standards Law.
In addition, in the case of a site in contact with the road in an alley-like site (dedicated passage) or a site such as a special building such as an apartment house or a large-scale building, the approach conditions are added in the Yokohama City Building Standards Ordinance. Please keep in mind.

2 Please tell us about the definition of roads in the Building Standards Law?

Roads under the Building Standards Law are stipulated in Article 42 of the same law, and refer to the following.
1 Road with a width of 4m or more on public roads
2 Roads with a width of 4m or more created based on laws such as the City Planning Act and the Land Readjustment Act
3 Roads that had a width of 4m or more at the time of the enforcement of the Building Standards Law (November 23, 1950)
4 Roads where the position of the road has been designated
5 Currently, the width is less than 4m, but along the road at the time of the enforcement of the Building Standards Law (November 23, 1950), along the road, a road with a width of 1.8m or more where houses were lined up (commonly known as "Section Road") )
