Type of industrial waste

Of the waste generated from business establishments, the 20 types stipulated by law are called "industrial waste", and the other are called "general waste".
Among them, those that may cause explosiveness, toxicity, infectiousness, or other damage to human health or living environment are classified as "specially controlled industrial waste" or "specially managed general waste", and storage and disposal We impose strict standards.

What is shown in the table below is industrial waste when generated from a specific industry or only a specific item.
Please note that general waste will be generated when generated from business establishments in industries not listed in the table.

Establishment of Specially Managed Industrial Waste Management Officer

Business sites that discharge specially controlled industrial waste must have a specially controlled industrial waste management officer.
In order to become a specially controlled industrial waste management officer, you must have the following qualifications specified by Ordinance of the Ministry of the Environment.
(* Please note that qualification requirements are different between infectious industrial waste and other specially controlled industrial waste.)

◎Qualification of persons responsible for business establishments that produce specially controlled industrial waste other than infectious waste (Article 8-17, Item 2 of the Regulations)

  A vocational school based on the Order No. 61 of 1936. High schools or secondary schools based on the School Education Law, or secondary schools based on the former secondary school ordinance (Edict No. 36 of 1943).
※2 Work experience, etc.: ②The number of years of experience in technical practice related to waste disposal after graduating from the school.
※3 Hygiene Engineering: For universities based on the old university order, civil engineering.
※4 Hygiene Engineering: In vocational schools based on the former professional school order, civil engineering engineering.
※5 Those who have knowledge: Participants in the workshop certified by the former Minister of Health and Welfare, Specially Managed Industrial Waste Management Responsibility implemented by the Nihon Sangyo Waste Management Promotion Center
  Participants in the workshop, etc. (Application / inquiry → (Public Corporation) Kanagawa Industrial Resource Recycling Association: P45)
