Type of industrial waste
Of the waste generated from business sites, 20 types stipulated by law are called "industrial waste" and the rest are called "general waste."
Among them, those that may cause explosiveness, toxicity, infectiousness, and other damage to human health or the living environment are distinguished as "specially managed industrial waste" or "specially managed general waste" and stored and disposed of. We impose strict standards.
Industry limited and item limitation
The items shown in the table below are industrial waste when generated from a specific industry or only specific items.
Please note that it will be municipal waste when generated from a business establishment in an industry that is not listed in the table.

Establishment of a specially controlled industrial waste management officer
Business sites that discharge specially controlled industrial waste must have a special management industrial waste management officer.
To become a specially controlled industrial waste management officer, you must have the following qualifications specified by an Ordinance of the Ministry of the Environment.
(* Please note that qualification requirements are different for infectious industrial waste and other specially managed industrial waste.)

A vocational school based on decree No. 61 of 1961). High school or secondary school based on the School Education Law or secondary school based on the old secondary school ordinance (Edict No. 36 of 1943).
※2 Work experience, etc.: ②For (4), after graduating from the school, experience of working in technical work related to waste disposal.
※3 Hygiene Engineering: For universities based on the old university ordinance, civil engineering.
※4 Hygiene Engineering: In vocational schools based on the old technical school ordinance, civil engineering.
※5. Those with knowledge: Participants in the workshop approved by the former Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, specially managed industrial waste management conducted by the Nihon Sangyo Waste Management Promotion Center
