"Green paths" bring to the past and the future.‥‥

Interviews, photos, and texts = inhabitant of a ward writer Maiko Suzuki

I accompanied the south course of "Let's Walk on the Green Road of Tsuzuki". It was a gathering in the hot afternoon of early July, but everyone was a happy smile. After doing preparatory exercises, introducing the experienced people and checking the walking route, it is the start of walking on the green road. In a group of less than 20 people, led by Mr. Mizutani, the representative, it was a slow step to be able to cover while walking.

The charm of the green road, which is visited by many people from the vicinity of Tsuzuki Ward  .

The first thing that surprised me was that Mr. Mizutani was not in Tsuzuki Ward  .
Four years ago, 5 or 6 people started this meeting. "I like Tsuzuki's green path, so I'm bothering you."
A participant from Kohoku Ward says, "The green path is wonderful." It seems that walking together is more fun than one person, so I joined.
And another member says from Kanagawa Ward.
Not only Tsuzuki residents, but also many people regularly visit Tsuzuki Ward  's green road, saying, "Because it's just a short time using the municipal subway."
Through the green road, people from neighboring districts can also convey the goodness of the area and broaden their horizons.

The thought of the designer of the green road that I felt on foot

I have been living in Tsuzuki Ward   for twenty years, and I have never walked on this road. He might have been traveling far away by car without looking nearby.
When you see large trees, winding rivers and seasonal flowers, insects and occasional wild birds, you feel calm when you feel the wind.
Also, if you look closely at old bridges and fences, you will find various discoveries in the design and make it fun. As I walked under the bridge, the frame of the bridge was just like an forehead of painting, and the scenery inside looked like a work, and it was really like a painting.
When I walked just below the bridge, I felt like I was going into a three-dimensional painting.
When I walked on the bridge, it was wide, but no cars could pass. Like this green road, it is designed not to cross the roadway and you can walk with peace of mind. Precious historical buildings are also left as they are, reminiscent of the distant past of the land, such as old houses, temples and shrines, and stone monuments.

I also heard from Takagi, the secretary, that there is a piece of the Berlin Wall nearby. It is said that a German company in Tsuzuki Ward   established it for world peace and goodwill with Japan. Tsuzuki Ward   can feel the history of Europe, "at that time," and recall what he had forgotten. I wish for world peace from this world, which is still chaotic and endless war. While walking along the familiar green path, chatting with friends, I think about the happiness of the future earth.

Although it was only an hour's walk, I felt like I traveled a long and deep space and space for the past and the future with healthy walking while feeling the season.

The Green Road passed down to the future

Tsuzuki Ward  's green road started 60 years ago, along with the Minato Mirai 21 project, the Kohoku New Town Development Plan was promoted.

Representatives of Yokohama City, the Japan Housing Corporation, and the rural areas at that time continue discussions and seek ideals to create a city with the participation of residents. A green promenade that makes use of nature will be completed. It is said that it will continue to evolve in the future.

The green road is a long promenade that connects each park, the north course is 4.1 km long, and the south course is 8.7 km. This time I walked only a small part of the road. According to Mr. Mizutani, the representative, the walking course seems to be discussing and incorporating hope. It would be interesting to look for a new course while looking at the map. They sometimes jump out of Tsuzuki Ward   and visit green roads outside the prefecture. I'm looking forward to the schedule that comes out every three months.

Why don't you take a stroll along the green path of Tsuzuki with your friends, interact with nature, refresh your mind and body, and touch and feel the history of the green path, which is part of town planning? Let's look at the region again.
