[2] Goals and policies for community development by district (4) Hongo A district

Last Updated October 15, 2018

The current situation, issues, and theme-specific policies described in the previous chapter are divided into seven districts and nine around Hongodai Station, and Ofuna Station, referring to the division of the Union Neighborhood Associations.

※Because it is classified by town boundaries, there are parts that are slightly different from the Union Neighborhood Associations area.

◆Background

  • The hills are residential areas for development and lowlands are densely populated wooden houses.
  • In Kajigaya Ichi and 2-chome, apartment development is progressing and the population is increasing, as the convenience of transportation is expected to improve along with the widening of the Yokohama Kamakura Line. In other regions, aging and population decline are progressing.
  • There is a Hongo small community house, but the Kajigaya area lacks local community bases and welfare bases.
  • Waterfront resources include the Itachi River and the Itachi River Right tributary, and Hongo Fujiyama Park is a green space resource. Hongo Fujiyama Park has an archery ground and an old private house, and is operated by residents of the city, and is expected to play a role as the core of the local community.
