[2] Goals and policies for town development by district (2) Kasama district

The current situation, issues, and theme-specific policies described in the previous chapter are divided into seven districts and nine around Hongodai Station, and Ofuna Station, referring to the division of the Union Neighborhood Associations.

※Due to statistics, it is classified by the town world, so there are parts that are slightly different from the area of the Union Neighborhood Associations.

◆Background

  • Factories, stores, condominiums, etc. are mixed along Route 4 and Shimonagaya Ofuna Line. In addition, there are major developments such as conversion of land use at the site of the factory and the redevelopment plan around Ofuna Station.
  • Located within walking distance of Ofuna Station, condominiums for families, rental apartments for young people, and apartments are progressing due to land use conversion at factories and other facilities.
  • Residents have lived in 30.6% for less than 0 years, 36.3% for 10-20 years, and 20.2% for more than 30 years (2000 Sakae Ward Public Awareness Survey). Because it is a relatively convenient area, it is expected that there will be locations and renewal of houses in the future.
  • Roads are narrow, wooden houses are dense, and there are areas where disaster prevention issues.
  • Traffic congestion at Kasama Juuji, where the Route 4 and the Prefectural Road Ofuna Stop Yabe Line intersect, has become chronic.
  • The Yokohama Loop South Line will pass through the north side of the district.
  • There are requests for sidewalks, bicycle parking lots, bus terminals, etc. to improve access to Ofuna Station.
  • About Ofuna Station, maintenance such as north exit ticket gates is pushed forward.
  • Along with the lack of community facilities, there are voices that the elderly are difficult to walk on the road and there is no place for the elderly to interact.
  • Natural resources include the Itachi River, Kashio River, and Kasama Chuo Park.
