In 2003, Yokohama City selected and announced districts with disaster prevention issues extracted based on objective conditions, and launched the “No, Michi, and Town Improvement Project” to support disaster prevention community development initiatives in the target districts. did. From April 1, 2014, "No, Michi, town improvement business" shifted to "non-combustible business of town" and push forward approach now.
Since 2003, Nishi Ward has established disaster-prevention community development councils in two districts, Nishitobecho and Higashikubocho, and the Neighborhood Associations and the government (Urban Development Bureau and Nishi Ward) have been working together to realize disaster-prevention community development.
