What is the Community Development Plan?

The mayor certified the plan that the local town development organization compiled the goals and policies of local town development and approaches for solving problems while gaining the understanding and support of local residents.

What happens if I'm certified?

  • Local residents work on promotion of local town development plan by oneself for realization of local town development plan and try to cooperate with local town development business that city performs.
  • When local residents are going to perform acts such as building in area targeted for local town development plan, we consider consistency of local town development plan and harmony with neighboring environment.
  • City considers local town development plan in development of measure about local town development.
  • City tries for promotion of local town development business to affect local town development plan.

What should I write?

  • Local goals and policies, "I wish I could become such a town in the future."
  • Specific initiatives in the region, such as anti-crime program, disaster prevention, environment, cityscape, etc.
  • For the realization of goals and policies, the contents of facility maintenance (disaster prevention equipment, information signs, etc.) that "I want to make something like this"

Benefits of Creating a Community Development Plan

  • It is published in city homepage and i-mappy (Yokohama-shi administration map reporting system).
  • Local residents, businesses, governments, etc. consider and cooperate with the realization of a local town development plan.
  • Local residents can share the future image of the town, making it easier for immigrants to understand the town.
  • When performing facility maintenance based on the plan, a part of the cost will be subsidized.

About certification

Accreditation requirements

  • Have a large number of support from the local residents in the area covered by the plan.
  • Being consistent with Yokohama City Planning Master Plan established based on the provisions of Article 18-2 of the City Planning Act (Act No. 100 of 1968) and other plans related to local town development formulated by the city.
  • It should not be intended to benefit a particular thing or to damage it.
  • The target area and its contents are consistent with the activity target area and activity plan of the local town development organization.
