About meals

It is no exaggeration to say that our body is made up of daily meals, and that physical and mental health depends on our diet. It is also an important lifestyle for nurturing the mind and body, and the dietary life as a child affects the dietary life after adulthood. Practicing a healthy diet leads to health promotion for all generations.

The Basic Law on Shokuiku states, "Food education is to nurture the ability to live through food."
Dietary education leads to improving the ability to live and quality of life for each person.

The 19th of every month is the food education day, and June is the food education month.

★Tell me Midolin!

Why is the food education day on the 19th of every month?

  • "Food" ⇒ Sho (first) = "1", Ku = "9"
  • “Iku” ⇒ i = “1”, ku = “9”
  • Food education promotion meeting was held on October 19, 2005

From these facts, "19th" has become the day of food education!

Why is the food education month in June?

About 20 years ago, the "Basic Law on Shokuiku" was enacted in "June". (There are various theories.)
As nutrition bias, irregular diet, lifestyle-related diseases, and the loss of traditional food culture are regarded as problems, this Basic Law on Shokuiku was enacted, and food education was further promoted as a national movement!
