According to the Basic Law on Shokuiku, "Food education is to nurture" ability to live "through food."
Dietary education leads to an increase in each person's ability to live and quality of life.

The 19th of every month is food education day and June is food education month.

★Teach me, I'drin!

Why is food education on the 19th of every month?

  • "Food" ⇒ Sho (first) = "1", Ku = "9"
  • "Growth" ⇒i = "1", Ku = "9"
  • Food education promotion meeting was held on October 19, 2005

From these things, "19th" has become a food education day!

Why is food education month in June?

It's because the Basic Law on Shokuiku was enacted in June about 20 years ago. (There are various theories.)
As nutritional bias, irregular diet, lifestyle-related diseases, and loss of traditional food culture are regarded as problems, the Basic Law on Shokuiku has been enacted, and food education will be further promoted as a national movement!
