Last Updated December 11, 2023

Activities of the Midori Ward Dietary Improvement Promotion Committee (Midori Ward Healthmate)

The Midori Ward Dietary Improvement Committee (nickname: Midori Ward Healthmate) is a nationwide volunteer organization that promotes health promotion centered on food under the slogan "Our health is our hands."
In addition to exercise and rest, food is an important factor for health promotion, and Midori Ward is also engaged in various food initiatives.
In fiscal 2019, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the formation, we created a collection of recipes that summarize recipes that were popular at past workshops and recommended items of members.

Introduction of Activities

※In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, cooking training and tasting distribution are currently canceled.

Health promotion classes by generation

Under the theme of lifestyle-related diseases prevention and dietary education, we communicate the importance of dietary habits through lectures and cooking training to all generations, from infants to the elderly, and disseminate awareness so that they can practice health promotion tailored to their generations.

Campaign to eat more vegetables

To raise awareness of the increase in vegetable intake by residents, we conduct campaigns about four times a year at ward events and at the Midori Ward Office Piloti. We distribute tastings of dishes full of vegetables, and conduct bean grab games and vegetable weighing experiences.

Exercise

  • Walking

For health promotion promotion, we carry out "caring, health promotion day" walking and district walking. "Compassion and Health Promotion Day" walking is held seven times a year, and Shiki no Mori Park is easily divided into a course and a satisfying course for about one hour.
District walking is held five times a year and walks for about two hours while enjoying the historic sites recommended by Healthmate.
Please refer to the following link for details.

  • Eat a lot of green exercises

Green-filled exercises were originally produced in fiscal 2003 to match two image songs created by Midori Ward Healthmate in fiscal 2002.
One song is a classical gymnastics that incorporates Tai Chi, and the other is a fun gymnastics that incorporates aerobics in a pop style.

You can purchase CDs and DVDs at actual cost, so please contact us at the bottom of the page (Midori Ward Health and Welfare Division).
At the same time, we have also created recipes for five kinds of vegetable cookies, "Green Taste Cookies," which contain familiar vegetables.

Others

We participate in the inhabitant of a ward festival held once a year at Shikinomori Park with the goal of promoting healthmates and establishing the health of the inhabitants.
Under the theme of "Enjoy plenty of greenery," we conduct panel displays, vegetable quizzes, weighing 350g of vegetables, distribution of recipes, and vegetable fishing games for children.
We call on visitors and perform "green-filled exercises" together.

The leaflet "Disaster Prevention Measures from Food-Recipes useful in emergencies-" created in 2013 was renewed in 2020. .
