Activities of the Midori Ward Dietary Improvement Promotion Committee (Midori Ward Health Mate)

The Midori Ward Dietary Improvement Promotion Committee (nickname: Midori Ward Health Mate) is a nationwide volunteer organization that promotes health centered on food under the slogan "Our health is our hands."
Along with "exercise" and "rest," food is an important element for health promotion, and Midori Ward is also working on a variety of food initiatives.
In fiscal 2019, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the formation, we created a recipe collection that summarizes recipes and recommended products from members that were popular in previous workshops.

Activity introduction

※In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, cooking training and tasting distribution are currently suspended.

Health promotion classes by generation

Under the theme of lifestyle-related diseases prevention and dietary education, we communicate the importance of eating habits through lectures and cooking training to all generations, from infants to the elderly, through lectures and cooking training.

Let's eat more vegetables

Campaigns are held about four times a year at ward events and at the Midori Ward government office to raise awareness of the increase in vegetable intake by residents. We distribute tastings of vegetables with plenty of vegetables, conduct bean grab games and vegetable weighing experiences.

Exercise

  • Walking

For health promotion promotion, we carry out walking and district walking for "compassion, health promotion day" walking. "Compassion and Health Promotion Day" Walking is held seven times a year, and you can easily walk in Shikinomori Park for about one hour, divided into courses and satisfactory courses.
District walking is held five times a year, and you can walk for about 2 hours while enjoying the historic sites recommended by Healthmates.
Please refer to the following link for details.

  • Drink plenty of green exercises

Green-rich gymnastics is an original gymnastics in 2003 in line with two image songs created by Midori Ward Health Mate in 2002.
One song is a classic style, stretch-based gymnastics incorporating Tai Chi, and the other is a pop style and fun gymnastics that incorporates aerobics.
