What is the inspection (substitute inspection) by a measurer instead of periodic inspections?

Instead of the periodic inspection conducted by Yokohama City, the inspection conducted by a nationally qualified measurer is called substitute inspection.
Periodic inspections carried out by Yokohama City officials or designated periodic inspection organizations (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays), and in principle, the date and time cannot be specified. If you wish to specify the date and time, please consider substitute inspection.

※If you have undergone a substitute inspection, please submit to The Mayor of Yokohama a "registration form indicating that a mechanic has performed an inspection instead of periodic inspection" with a certificate issued by the measurer.
As a result, periodic inspection is exempt.

Measurers who start substitute inspections in Yokohama City should submit "registration form for inspection work by measurers instead of regular inspections" to The Mayor of Yokohama with attached documents (*).
