Yokohama Housing Support (Yokohama City Housing Support Council)

The Housing Support Council is a council that can be set up arbitrarily based on Article 10 of the "Law Concerning the Promotion of the Supply of Rental Houses to Persons Needing to Secure Housing (commonly known as the Housing Safety Net Law)".
Those who need to secure housing are those with low-income earners, survivors, the elderly, disabled, families raising children, foreigners, those who have left the elementary school studenｔ nursing homes, and others who need special consideration for securing housing.
Yokohama City established Yokohama Housing Support (Yokohama Housing Support Council) in October 2018 with the aim of ensuring stable housing for those who need to secure housing, and to contribute to the affluent and livable community development.

We have set up a consultation desk to receive consultations from those who are having difficulty securing their homes, landlords, real estate operators, and welfare support organizations that have been consulted about their homes. For foreign households living in rental housing, etc., we provide support from smooth entry into rental housing, continuation of residence, and departure.

On the Yokohama Housing Support website opened in 2020, nine languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Thai, Tagalog, Nepali, Vietnamese) and Portuguese) and easy Japanese.

We repeated study meetings for operation of "Yokohama Residence Supporter Registration System (a system in which the council registers real estate stores and welfare support groups that provide housing support for those who need to secure housing as supporters)"・ We have established the guidelines and started operation of the supporter (1 "support supporters" who provide housing support close to the counselor, and 2 "acceptance supporters" who accept those who require special attention).

As an initiative to support the residence of persons with disabilities, we will deepen the connection between the welfare department and real estate departments through lectures, sharing issues, and exchanging opinions from the standpoint of both welfare supporters and real estate agents, and secure stable housing for persons with disabilities.
