Are sewage pipes and treatment plants taking measures in the event of a major earthquake?
Last Updated March 14, 2019
Sewerage facilities are one of the important public utilities and are essential living infrastructure for citizens' lives, so it is necessary to secure basic functions even in the event of an earthquake. For this reason, when constructing major facilities such as treatment plants and pumping stations, we are developing facilities based on new seismic standards formulated after the 1995 Hyogoken Nanbu Earthquake, and are promoting seismic reinforcement of existing facilities.
In addition, with regard to sewer pipes, repairs are being carried out sequentially for major trunk lines that require reinforcement.
Due to the enormous scale and extension of the pipe branch line, it is difficult to respond in advance, so after the earthquake, we would like to immediately investigate the damage situation and work on restoration.
Classification | Reinforcement target Facilities | 2001 Until | 2002 | 2003 Since then |
---|---|---|---|---|
Water Reclamation Center | 6 | 5 | 1 | 0 |
Pumping Station | 10 | 2 | 0 | 8 |
Facilities | 2001 Until | 2002 | 2006 Until |
---|---|---|---|
Main tube pipe | 8 | 1 | 24 |
