Outline of the event

Summer vacation Children's Environmental Science Class 2023 Flyers

 Yokohama Institute of Environmental Science will hold a "Summer Vacation Children's Environmental Science Class" for elementary school 4th to 6th graders and their parents on Friday, August 18, 2023. You can learn about the environment through participation in workshops, analytical instruments that you can't usually see, and exhibits of real creatures in Yokohama. Let's have fun learning about the environment and become an environmental doctor! Please apply for it!

Date and time

Friday, August 18, 2023
Morning part: From 9:30 to 11:30.
Afternoon session: From 13:30 to 15:30

Target / Capacity

  • Target: Grade 4th to 6th graders and their parents
  • Capacity (planned): Each time 50 groups of 100 people

 Free of charge

Contents

 We will hold workshops and experience corners such as facility tours.

Workshop (at the time of application, select one workshop you want to participate in.)

Let's experience the microplastic survey!

Let's look for microplastics in the sand! What kind of plastic do you have?

Let's make a recycling work "Shaka Shaka" using the found microplastic you found!

Let's science color (simple science experiment)

In the morning, we will conduct an experiment to separate the color of a water-based pen with paper and water, and in the afternoon, we will conduct experiments to observe substances that make fluorescent substances.

Challenge the dissection of a blurry!

"Niboshi" is used as a soup stock for cooking, and delicious to eat as it is. Let's have fun learning about the body of fish!

Experience corner (free tour)

 We will display analytical instruments that you can not usually see and real creatures of Yokohama. You can also experience interesting experiments and crafts.

 Yokohama Institute of Environmental Science (5th floor, Shibusawa ABC Building No.1, Ebisu-cho, Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama-shi)

Access

 JR Keihin Tohoku Line/Negishi Line: A 15-minute walk from Shinkoyasu Station
 Keihinkyuko Line: A 15-minute walk from Keikyu Shinkoyasu Station
 Municipal bus 19 system: Take the "Shinkoyasu Station" and get off at Ebisucho 3 minutes walk.

 (Caution) There is no parking lot for the general public or bicycle parking lots, so please use public transportation when you come to our institute.

  2. The day of the event will be photographed for recording at the Yokohama Institute of Environmental Science. (We will not post photos that can identify individuals.)
