Tokyo Bay
In Tokyo Bay, the population and industry are concentrated in the basin, and the pollution load from the land area is very large, and the topographical characteristics that are highly closed, and the problem of water pollution such as eutrophication is chronic. I am.
Yokohama City participates in the following meetings to protect the environment of Tokyo Bay, and is working with neighboring local governments to promote initiatives.
It consists of water quality conservation bureau, sewerage bureau and port bureaus in nine prefectures (Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Yokohama, Kawasaki, Chiba, Saitama, and Sagamihara), and investigates and eutrophication measures to improve water quality in Tokyo Bay.
Tokyo Bay Revitalization Promotion Council Monitoring Subcommittee (outside site)
The Tokyo Bay Revitalization Promotion Council was established in February 2002 with relevant ministries and related local governments as members in order to "revitalize the sea" in metropolitan areas where water pollution is becoming chronic. Until now, we have formulated the "Action Plan for the Revitalization of Tokyo Bay" with a planning period from 2003 to 2013 and from 2013 to 2023, and have been working on it for two periods. . In March 2023, we formulated the Action Plan for the Regeneration of Tokyo Bay (Third Phase) and are promoting comprehensive measures to regenerate the water environment in Tokyo Bay.
The Monitoring Subcommittee is engaged in monitoring and analysis of the marine environment in Tokyo Bay, including simultaneous surveys of the Tokyo Bay environment and examination of survey items.
Tokyo Bay Coast Local Government Environmental Conservation Council (outside site)
In order to purify the water quality of Tokyo Bay, the Tokyo Bay Coast Municipal Government discusses wide-area measures and conducts awareness-raising on environmental conservation among Gulf residents, and promotes solidarity and unified environmental administration.
The Tokyo Bay Revitalization Promotion Council Monitoring Subcommittee, the Nine Prefectural City Summit Meeting Environmental Issues Task Force on Water Quality Improvement Subcommittee, the Tokyo Bay Coast Local Government Environmental Conservation Council and the Tokyo Bay Reconstruction Public-Private Partnership Forum Tokyo Bay Environmental Monitoring Promotion Project Team invites the participation of national and local governments as well as companies and civil society organizations, and conducts a simultaneous survey of the Tokyo Bay Environment (Tokyo Bay and rivers) on the Tokyo Bay Area.
Every year, Yokohama City recruits companies and civic groups who can participate in this survey through water quality surveys, biological surveys, and environmental awareness activities.
Rivers
We are working on the conservation water environment based on various plans such as the Yokohama City Water and Green Basic Plan.
Based on this plan, we are conducting surveys on water quality, etc.
