Look for music scores

 Introducing how to find music materials such as popular songs and piano music in the Yokohama City Library.

 ※The score section on the 5th floor of Chuo-toshokan has many music materials.

Search for music scores by song title, composer, artist, etc.

(1) Look for music scores in online catalog

 If you know the song title, composer, artist, etc. you are looking for.
On the advanced search screen of Yokohama City Library online catalog (outside site) (URL: https://opac.lib.city.yokohama.lg.jp/winj/opac/top.do?lang=ja)
If you enter the following items and search, you can find out the materials containing the score.

"Keywords" → Song title ※・Keywords such as composer, performer, and work number (e.g. Gen Hoshino) and scores

 ※Some materials do not have individual song names registered. In such a case, search by a song name will not be hit. If you cannot find a score in online catalog, please contact "(2) Search for music scores on the Internet" or contact the counter.

(2) Find music scores on the Internet

 Here are the following two websites that allow you to search for music scores on the Internet.
You can identify the title of the material containing the score from the song title, composers, performers, etc., and check the library's collection status at the Yokohama City Library online catalog.

2 Find the music score of musical instruments

 If you know the name of the song you are looking for and you are looking for and you are looking for music scores for musical instruments (such as piano, band scores, etc.)
On the advanced search screen of Yokohama City Library online catalog (external site) (https://opac.lib.city.yokohama.lg.jp/winj/opac/top.do?lang=ja) You can find the materials that contain the score.

"Keywords" → Keywords (e.g. Gen Hoshino) such as song title, composer, performer, work number, etc.

3 Search for music scores from lyrics

If you know some of the lyrics, you can look up the song name or artist name from the following site.

Find music scores from 4 genres

(1) Pop songs

A.All Sound Music score

 This is the score of a popular song from the publisher. It's a melody score only, with prelude, interruptions, aftertas, Obligat (tire) and code. Although the score is faithfully recorded from records and CDs, some songs have been moved to a tone with few numbers in consideration of the ease of singing.

 Includes the latest songs of enka and pop songs. In addition to singing advice for all songs, there are also "Top guitar masterpiece selection" where you can play hit songs on tab music, "Harmonica with Harmonica" where you can enjoy enka with harmonica solo, "Karaoke Club" where you can sing new songs with easy-to-understand and polite instruction. There is also a "B-side corner" with a collection of coupling songs. Twice a year, a list of songs recorded is posted.

 This series has been published once a year since 1950. It contains hit songs for the year. Volumes 1 to 43 have a total index chart.

 Song songs from Meiji 17 to 2011 are recorded in chronological order. As a separate volume, there is a total index chart from 1 to 8 volumes. If you are a famous song, please search for this complete collection.

 The top is a Showa song, and the bottom is a song from 1989 onward. Only the second volume has been added by stacking the version.

A complete collection of lyric songs

 In addition to melody and lyrics, it is characterized by piano accompaniment score. In addition, there is a commentary at the bottom of the score so that you can learn about the background of the song.

 There is a song name index and a song index. We collect a wide range of nursery rhymes, songs, popular songs, J-pop, etc.

 The lyrics contain both the original and Japanese translations. It contains songs that are popular with many people, from opera aliases, songs, folk songs, popular songs, movie theme songs, etc.

C. Others

 It is a monthly magazine that contains piano music for new songs.

(2) Nursery rhymes, singing songs, children's songs

 Contains melody, lyrics, and piano accompaniment score of about 300 songs and nursery rhymes from the Meiji to Showa eras. There is a singing index and a commentary on each song.

 More than 10,000 children's songs sung in the Meiji, Taisho and early Showa eras are included in each prefecture. Contains lyrics and melody scores, and there are commentary on the words of children's songs, play methods, related folklore and history. There is also a total of three volumes of "Japanese Children's Song" (outside site) (Yanagihara Shoten), which summarizes 654 representative songs for each prefecture.

 A reprint of a music collection containing about 1500 songs of nursery rhymes, songs, and military songs from the Meiji era to the early Showa era (original version was published in Showa 6-7). It contains melody, lyrics, and piano accompaniment score. The separate volume includes a song name index, a singing index, a personal name index, and a commentary.

(4) Group songs (national anthem, dormitory song, military songs, etc.)

 Includes national anthem of 198 countries around the world with original, Japanese translation lyrics, and all music scores.

 Contains 287 representative dormitory songs from 59 schools, including all former high schools, Teidai Yoshina, and Shodai Yoshina. In addition to music scores and lyrics, information such as school badges and school history is also added.

  A reprint of a music collection containing about 280 songs from the Meiji era to the Great East Asia War, Army Air Force songs, and wartime songs from the Meiji era to the Great East Asia War (the original version published in Showa 47). It contains melody, lyrics, and commentary. There is an index.

(5) Others

 Includes vocal solo works by composer and genre. It has piano accompaniment and lyrics, and at the end of the book, there is a commentary on each work. In the case of foreign songs, the original lyrics have a reading kana and direct translation at the end of the book.

 Includes about 230 melody scores. The lyrics contain both the original and the Japanese language.

 Includes about 70 music scores (with piano accompaniment). The lyrics contain both the original and the Japanese language. 

 Contains about 800 melody scores. The lyrics are written only in the original text.
