About light motor vehicles tax (keijidosha-zei) payment confirmation system (light JNKS)

The light motor vehicles tax (keijidosha-zei) Payment Confirmation System (Light JNKS) will be launched in January 2023, and the light motor vehicles Inspection Association will be able to check the payment information for each vehicle in light motor vehicles tax (keijidosha-zei) (by type) imposed by municipalities online.
This eliminates the need for Miwa and four-wheeled light motor vehicles to present a tax payment certificate at the continuous inspection window. (If you receive a continuous inspection immediately after payment, please pay at a financial institution or convenience store.)

※For small two-wheeled vehicles (displacement more than 250cc), it is necessary to continue to show a tax payment certificate at the continuous inspection window.

・Light JNKS only applies to Miwa and four-wheeled vehicles. You will still need a tax certificate for motorcycles.
・It may take a reasonable number of days for payment information to be registered with Light JNKS.
　If you receive a continuous inspection immediately after payment, pay at a financial institution or convenience store, etc., and bring your tax payment certificate as before.

・If payment cannot be confirmed by light JNKS, a paper tax payment certificate will be required as before.
　Example: Immediately after purchasing a used car, immediately after moving to another municipality, or when the target vehicle has not paid in the past, etc.
