About taxation sign (license plate) grant of specific small motorized bicycle (electric kickboard, etc.)

　With the enforcement of the revised Road Traffic Law, electric kickboards etc. that meet the following standards will be classified as specific small motorized bicycles from July 1, 2023.

• The rated output of the prime mover must be 0.6 kilowatts or less
• It must be 1.9 meters or less in length and 0.6 meters in width
• Maximum speed must be less than 20 kilometers per hour

　Persons who own a specific small motorized bicycle must receive a special tax sign (license plate). The application procedure is the same as the conventional motor bike acquisition procedure.
