Survey of asbestos use in school facilities, etc. (No. 2) (FY2005)

The Board of Education conducts surveys on asbestos-containing spray materials at school facilities in order to ensure safety measures for elementary school studenｔ students. In the process of investigation, it was found that the use of asbestos-containing spraying materials was found at Higashi-Gumizawa Elementary School as of the evening of August 30, so we will respond as follows.
1 Asbestos used
Staircase room containing 50% chrysotile (Shiraishi cotton) 4th floor ceiling
2 Scatter volume survey
We will promptly investigate the amount of scattering in the air.
3 Temporary closures
The school will be temporarily closed from Wednesday, August 31, 2005 to Friday, September 2, 2005 to conduct a scattering survey.
4 Future Responses
We will respond appropriately based on the results of the scattering survey.
