Japanese language support base facility "Himawari Practice Book"

To support elementary school studenｔ students who have just arrived in Japan and their parents, Yokohama City opened a Japanese language support base facility called Himawari, in September 2017. In the Pre-Class program, elementary school studenｔ students are given intensive initial Japanese language instruction for about one month or three days a week. We have created and published "Himawari Practice Book 1 (Kiyone)" (published in September 2019) and "Himawari Practice Book 2 (Special Sound Edition)" (published in September 2021) and "Sunflower Practice Book 2 (Special Sound Edition)" (published in September 2021) as original teaching materials for the initial instruction.
