We planted flower sunflowers and colorful flower of ward!
On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, a freshman at Maruyamadai Elementary School planted sunflowers and flowers in the flowerbed in front of Kaminagaya Station! Maruyamadai Ichozaka Shopping Street and Maruyamadai Neighborhood Association also helped!
Sunflower seedlings were raised by first-year students of Maruyamadai Elementary School raised seeds from Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture where Konan Ward interacts through sunflowers. Flowers were received from people from JA Konan Hanakibu.
Konan Public Works Office staff provided assistance and watering on the day, including soil creation in advance.
It has become a colorful and beautiful flower bed, so please come and see it!

At the beginning of the activity, I learned how to plant flowers from JA Yokohama Konan Hanakibu.
We planted a lot of seedlings and flowers together with the children and the local community!

Finally, first-year students gave words of thanks to the local people.
Watering will be performed by Maruyamadai Elementary School and Maruyamadai Ichozaka Shopping Street in the future.
I'm looking forward to the growth of sunflowers!

Due to the severe heat, the season was in full bloom earlier than usual.
It was blooming powerfully without losing the heat.
Thank you for Maruyamadai Elementary School and the local people, watering and flower beds.
I would also like to thank everyone who watched it.
The seeds can be collected and used for activities in the next fiscal year.
Removal of dead sunflowers is scheduled to be removed after the seeds grow.
