Sunflower in the median strip of Yokohama Fujisawa Line

Last Updated October 30, 2020

Planting sunflowers with local people

On the day of sports on Friday, July 24, 2020, when it rains, about 670 pots of sunflower seedlings were planted in the median strip on the Yokohama Fujisawa Line in front of Konan Public Works Office. We planned to carry out this sunflower planting, which we carry out every year, together with local people, but due to the impact of COVID-19, we reduced the scale this year.

Planting

I'm growing quickly!

It is on Wednesday, August 5th. The 12th day after planting trees. It has grown to a height of about 50cm.

Discover the buds!

It is on August 12th (Wednesday). The 19th day after planting trees. It has grown to a height of about 80cm. I've got some buds.

It has bloomed!

It is on Tuesday, August 18th. The 25th day after planting trees. Large ones grow to a height of about 1m, and flowers are blooming.
We plan to open the entrance as the full bloom approaches.

It's time to see it!

On Friday, July 24, 2020, sunflowers planted with locals reached their best time.
It was later than usual, but so that everyone can feel the sunflower, the flower of the ward, close to it.
Until early September, we opened the passage to the sunflower field.
Thank you to everyone who cooperated and everyone who came to the sunflower field.
