Sunflower in the median strip of the Yokohama Fujisawa Line

Last Updated October 30, 2020

Planting sunflowers with local residents

On a sports day of Friday, July 24, 2020, when light rain falls, we planted about 670 pots of sunflower seedlings in the median strip of Yokohama Fujisawa Line in front of Konan Public Works Office. We planned to plant this sunflower planting, which we carry out every year, together with local people, but due to the impact of the new coronavirus, the scale was reduced this year.

State of planting

It's growing quickly!

It is on Wednesday, August 5th. The twelfth day after planting. It has grown to a height of about 50cm.

I found a bud!

It is on August 12th (Wednesday). The 19th day since the tree planting. It has grown to a height of about 80cm. A bud is also made.

It has bloomed!

It is on Tuesday, August 18th. 25 days after planting. It is a large one that grows to a height of about 1m, and flowers are blooming.
When full bloom is approaching, we will open the entrance.

It's time to see it!

On Friday, July 24, 2020, sunflowers planted with local residents have reached their best.
It was a later time than usual, but we hope that everyone can feel closer to the sunflower, the flower of the ward.
The passage to the sunflower field was released until early September.
Thank you to everyone who cooperated and everyone who came to the sunflower field.
