Sealed foods with less oxygen, such as canned food, bottled food, and vacuum packaging.
In baby/infant, honey (baby/infant botulism)

Features

It is widely inhabited in nature, such as in soil and mud in rivers. It grows where there is no oxygen, forms very strong heat-resistant spores, and produces very strong toxins.

Symptoms

After 8 to 36 hours after eating, vomiting, language disorders, visual impairment, swallowing disorders (difficult to swallow), and dyspnea appear. In severe cases, death is caused by respiratory paralysis.

Preventive measures

・Foods that need to be stored refrigerated are sold even if they are packaged similar to retort pouch foods that can be stored at room temperature. Check the display of the storage method and save it at an appropriate temperature.
・Never eat if the container or packaging is expanding or has a bad smell.
・When making vacuum packs and bottles at home, wash the raw materials thoroughly and heat sterilize thoroughly. Also, let's keep it refrigerated or frozen.
・Don't give honey to baby/infant under one year old.
