About protection facilities

Protected facilities are social welfare facilities based on the Livelihood Protection Law, and there are three types in the city: rescue facilities, rehabilitation facilities, and medical protection facilities. This page especially introduces rescue facilities and rehabilitation facilities that are entrance facilities.
What are protection facilities (rescue facilities and rehabilitation facilities)?
□ Rescue Facilities
Those who have difficulty in living in the community due to significant physical or mental disabilities and who are in need of living enter and receive living assistance.
□ Rehabilitation facilities
Those who have difficulty living in the community due to physical or mental disabilities and who are in need of living enter and receive support for independence.
Protected facilities in Yokohama City
There are three rescue facilities and three rehabilitation facilities in the city.
The public facilities Urafuneen Garden in Yokohama City and Chuo Koseikan, which are public facilities, are operated by designated managers.

About the selection of designated manager of the fourth term (from 2021 to 2025)
Designated manager of protection facility
With the introduction of the designated manager system at public facilities, operation by the designated manager has also begun at protected facilities in Yokohama City.
(1) Selection procedure for designated manager
In Yokohama-shi, designated manager is selected by open call for participants in principle and are appointed as designated manager after receiving decision of assembly.
With regard to Urafuneen Garden in Yokohama City and Chuo Koseikan, candidates selected by the Selection Committee were designated as the 4th City Counsil Regular Meeting in 2020.
(2) Yokohama City Protection Facility Designated Manager Selection Committee
