Reviewing the operation method with the construction of the Neighborhood Hall

The 10-year rebuilding of the Association Hall has become a new building in March 2017.
Therefore, we decided to set the hall as the secretariat of the Union Neighborhood Associations and encourage the use of residents to find leading workers. We plan to use it in places where residents gather, such as subcommittees and clubs, as an emergency waiting area in fire brigade, and as a base for various local events such as exhibitions and inspections of fire extinguisher.

Review of operation method of neighborhood hall

Among them, the major reviews were from "opening when necessary" to "always open", and the "concierge" (Yorozu-stor)" that conveys local information.

The concierge will accept applications for the hall.

Measures for Management Method

The goal of “independent profitability of the hall operation”

A concierge (30 registered persons, shifts in the morning and afternoon) has been set up to constantly open the hall, and the usage rate of the hall is used as much as the rate of the old hall era.

The reimbursement of the concierge's actual expenses is covered by hall usage fees and income from copy machines and vending machines. In particular, copiers have achieved initial objectives and contribute to the income and expenditure of nearly 10,000 yen per month. Because the copy fee is cheaper than the general public, it is now used by students and those who did not stop by the hall much before, such as those used by students.

Air conditioners are installed in all rooms, but electricity costs are saved by contract changes, etc., and they are within the utility costs of the old hall era.

In addition, in order to improve the use of the hall, we also guide club activities (calligraphy, shogi, mahjong, child care salon). From the veranda of the hall, you can see Mount Fuji very beautiful. The cherry blossoms are very beautiful in spring. I would like to devise the use of empty spaces, such as this veranda and the second floor hall.

Increasing the utilization rate of the hall increases the awareness of the residents.

This year marks the first anniversary of the museum's opening in March this year. We are planning an event to celebrate the hall anniversary on Sunday, March 18th. We would like to hold this event every year and make it an annual event as a local event.

Current status and future response

Challenges in Neighborhood Associations

One of the reasons behind the shortage of workers in Neighborhood Associations Neighborhood Association is that it has not been able to cope with changes in social structure due to aging society. However, it is difficult to promote activities that people in prime of life want to participate in.

In order to appeal to the next generation, I think it is important to promote cooperation with local nursery schools, kindergartens and elementary and junior high schools to increase opportunities for children to come into contact with Neighborhood Associations activities.

Due to the declining birthrate and aging population, volunteer groups, NPOs, and public institutions and facilities are also looking for human resources. There is a situation like a competition for leaders, and this may be one of the reasons for the shortage of local human resources.

Challenges in Neighborhood Associations

Enhancing Concierge

For those registered in the concierge, we will conduct introductory training focusing on procedures for reception work, etc., but raising awareness of providing useful information to residents is an issue for the future. Currently, the concierge is working under the administration of the Union, but in the future it would be desirable to work in the form of a concierge department.

The federation hall is the base of the Shimoizumi district. There is a lot of desire for more people to use it.

A multi-purpose space on the first floor. It can be divided into three small conference rooms with partitions.

Open space on the second floor
On the second floor, there is an open space with a copier and a mini kitchen. It can be used by anyone. Middle and high school students often come to the hall to use a copier. Beyond the curtain is the terrace.

2nd floor terrace
The terrace on the second floor. On a clear day, Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance.

From the presenter

The goal of achieving independent profitability is to reflect the belief that Neighborhood Associations activities are at a turning point. If the activity is outdated and seen by the local people, or if it has led to a shortage of workers, free use of the hall, participating in events, and paying executives Isn't it an idea?
