Regarding oversized garbage discharged from homes, the city has a paid system, but there is a tax exemption system for those who meet certain requirements. Fees for collection, transportation and disposal of oversized garbage up to four per household per year (April to March).
Applications are accepted at Oversized Garbage Reception Center. Please apply by phone, internet or chat. Chat can be accessed from the city website, as well as from the Yokohama City LINE official account.
If you have hearing or language disabilities, we can also accept faxes.
Those who are eligible for the tax exemption system are as follows.

1 social security Household
2 Household to which person who has been certified as physically disabled 1st or 2nd grade belongs
3 Household to which person who has been certified as A1 or A2 for intellectual disability belongs
4 Household to which person who has been certified as grade 1 mental illness belongs
5 Households to which person who has been certified as multiple disabilities (Disability Grade 3 and Intellectual B1) belongs
6 Households to which the elderly (65 years old or older) who fall under The Long-term Care Insurance 4 or 5 belong
7 Single-parent households receiving welfare Medical Certificate
8 Specified Japanese households remaining in China
9 Elderly people living alone who have difficulty bringing in oversized garbage directly withHealth and Welfare Center.
