How should business-related waste be separated?
Last Updated April 3, 2023
Business-related waste is broadly divided into "business-related general waste" and "industrial waste".
Emission companies must separate and dispose of each type.
For specific classifications, please refer to “How to Separate Business Garbage and Resources” on the City of Yokohama, Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau website. (Please note that this is different from household garbage's classification rules.)
When entrusting the disposal to a contractor, contract with a licensed contractor (licensed contractor) for general waste collection and transportation for general waste, and a licensed contractor for industrial waste collection, transportation and disposal. .
If you bring general garbage (burnable garbage) to a city incineration plant without sufficient separation (including consignment), you may be asked to take it home without being accepted.
