Yokohama City and Keihin Kyuko Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Keikyu Electric Railway") have been conducting a demonstration test of a shared transfer service that provides transportation support in the area west of Keikyu Tomioka Station in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama City (hereinafter referred to as "the area"). This year, the third year, we will start a free experiment on October 11 (Sun), reflecting the various mobility needs and regional views that we have grasped so far.
This time, we promoted the improvement of the two whereabouts ceremony, and introduced the expansion of routes and the introduction of hand-lifting on and off on routes for regular routes. With regard to on-demand operation, the new service proposed by Nissan Motor Vehicles, which participated in this experiment in earnest from this fiscal year, changed the expression to free area operation and expanded the scope of service provision, and made it possible to make reservations and transfer by telephone.
In the future, we will conduct two stages, "free experiment" and "paid experiment", and further study the full-scale operation.
This demonstration experiment will be conducted as part of an initiative based on the "Collaboration Agreement on Promotion of Community Development along the Keikyu Line (Southern Yokohama City)" concluded by Yokohama City and Keikyu Electric Railway in 2018.
