In 1989, when the Heisei era began, Japan was at the peak of the bubble economy, and Yokohama was the 130th anniversary of the opening of the port and the 100th anniversary of municipal administration.
That year, the Yokohama Expo "YES'89" was held in Yokohama, and Yokohama Bay Bridge and other areas were opened in this year, shaping the outline of Yokohama today. On the other hand, it was also a year when the domestic and international order, such as the collapse of the Berlin Wall, and it was also a time when the turmoil called the "lost 20 years" was about to begin.
This year, the beginning of the Reiwa era, following the exhibition in the City History Archives last year (2018) exhibition in the City History Archives "YOKOHAMA 1968-50 Years ago, that year when Japan was the hottest year", and another turning point in postwar Japan Looking back on Yokohama in 1989.
At the same time, we will hold a lecture titled "Looking and interpreting Yokohama in 1989"
