On May 26, 2021, Chairman Tomio Shimizu was elected as the 64th Chairman of the National Council of Municipal Council of Japan, at the 97th Regular Meeting of the Presidency of the National Council of Municipal Councils.
The term of office will be until the next Chairman is elected at the regular general meeting in 2023.
