In City of Yokohama, Transportation Bureau, under the harsh environment of the intersection of Shin-Yokohama Station on Route 2 and directly below a large-scale circular pedestrian bridge, we built the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line Shin-Yokohama Station (tentative name) underpinning the station.
Even under construction, the trains were operated safely as usual, and the construction was carried out without any impact on customers.
We won the Geotechnical Society Award for overcoming this difficult construction with advanced technology. This was a double award following the award of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Award in fiscal 2019.
