Sightseeing in Yokohama with "Bayside Blue" & "Akai shoes"

There are many municipal buses that can be used for sightseeing in Yokohama, but this time we will use "Bayside Blue" and "Akaizutsu" to go around sightseeing spots. Both are buses with a distinctive appearance, "Bayside Blue" is the first joint bus in Japan with a long body mark, and "Akaikatsu" is a cute retro-style design inspired by an old tram . Not only sightseeing spots, but also the bus itself can be enjoyed.

Take the "Bayside Blue" to the hammerhead

The first way to head is "Yokohama Hammerhead", which is marked by the historical industrial remains "Hammer Head Crane". It is a popular spot with many restaurants and shops where you can enjoy shopping in the area. Head from Yokohama Station East Exit to Yamashita-Futo.

The long body of "Bayside Blue" has a total length of 18m. When viewed from the rear vehicle of two vehicles, the driver's seat looks very far away. The crew has trained more than 80 hours of training to achieve a comfortable ride, even with a long body. On the service route, there are severe curves that turn 180 degrees, but you can ride with confidence.

One of the highlights is the dynamic movement unique to the joint bus.

We arrived at the nearest bus stop "Cup Noodle Park Hammerhead Entrance" near the destination bus stop "Cup Noodle Park Hammerhead Entrance" near the destination, about 18 minutes by bus.

You can look at the big "hammerhead crane" or enjoy shopping and dining at nearby commercial facilities. If you go a little further, you can go to Aka Renga Soko, which was reopened last December.

Take the "Akaitsutsu" to a popular tourist spot

By the way, from here, you can take a tour of the popular sightseeing spots, and go around several spots.

The cute retro-style design of "Akaikatsutsu" was applied not only to the exterior of the bus but also on the interior. The brick design, reminiscent of Aka Renga Soko, will enhance the atmosphere of Yokohama sightseeing.

While waiting for the bus to arrive at the hammerhead bus stop, I checked the approach information of the bus.
①Read the two-dimensional codes posted at the bus stop
②Enter the departure point (bus stop name)

It's safe to know at a glance how far the bus is coming and how crowded it is.

As the approach information, the bus arrived

From hammerhead to Yokohama-Chinatown

We passed in front of Aka Renga Soko and Kanagawa prefectural government, and we arrived in Yokohama-Chinatown in about 10 minutes.

Speaking of Chinatown, it's a gourmet food. Delicious scent drifting in the street stimulates appetite. At the time of the interview, despite weekdays, it was crowded with many people.

From Yokohama-Chinatown to Harbor View Park (Minato-no-Mieru Oka Koen)

After a 10-minute walk through the retro atmosphere of Motomachi and Yamate, I arrived at Harbor View Park (Minato-no-Mieru Oka Koen).

From the park with a good view on a hill, you can enjoy a masterpiece panoramic view full of openness overlooking the port. There were many people who set up their cameras on this day.

From Harbor View Park (Minato-no-Mieru Oka Koen) to Yamashita Park

He went down the hill of Yamate, and soon arrived at Yamashita Park.

It is a park where many people spend a relaxing time while enjoying the view of the sea and Minato Mirai. You can also see Osanbashi and cruise ships calling at ports. There are other attractions nearby, such as Yokohama Marine Tower, so we recommend taking a walk around the city starting from Yamashita Park.

I transited "Bayside Blue" and "Akaitsutsu" and went around major sightseeing spots in the coastal area, but I was able to go to various places more than I expected. You can enjoy the exotic cityscape unique to Yokohama while traveling, and you can easily enjoy areas with many slopes such as Yamate, and easily enjoy areas with many slopes such as Yamate. In addition, you can see from the bus and drop in at places you care about. Isn't it a unique way of enjoying a bus?
