Title

We hold "Yokohama Architecture Plaza" again this year at the City Hall Atrium on Saturday, November 11, 2023, so that children who will bear the future can realize the joy of "architecture" and "manufacturing"!

In addition to the hands-on "Children's Workshop" and various events related to architecture, which were held last year in the Yokohama City Public Building 100th Anniversary Project, this year's lecture to learn about the Great Kanto Earthquake and the reconstruction of public buildings this year "Academies" is also planned.

Please come to the city hall, which is a full-day construction that both children and adults can enjoy.

①Origami Architecture Workshop [advance application]

Let's experience the wonder of transforming into a building when you fold a piece of paper!
①10:00~②12:30~③14:30~
Capacity = 20 people each time
Target = 3rd to 6th graders (accompanied by parents)

②Crafts! Making an extension cord that can be used at home [advance application]

Create a 100V extension cord that can be used at home.
With simple work, you will be able to take the extension cord home.
①10:00~②11:30~ 
③13:00~④14:30~
Travel time = approx. 10 minutes
Capacity = 18 people each time
Target = Elementary school students and above (accompanied by parents)

③Experience making my own chopsticks made of wood from Kanagawa Prefecture [No application required]

Let's make my chopsticks by cutting wood from Kanagawa Prefecture!
10:00~16:00
(Approximately 20 minutes, accepted from time to time)
Capacity = 100 people
Target = Elementary school students and above (accompanied by parents)

④Space workshop [advance application]

Let's work together to build a house!
The house is built with two types of square timber and jumbo rubber bands.
11:00-15:00 (Required time: about 4 hours, including lunch break)
Capacity = 50 people
Target = 4th grade to junior high school students

⑤Original coaster made of thinned wood [advance application]

(Utilization of thinned wood, Yokohama Support Corps Road (Do) Wood (Ki)

Logs thinned logs in the watershed forest of Yokohama Channel in Doshi Village, Yamanashi Prefecture
Cut out, color, decorate, and make a coaster.

Target = 4 years old to elementary school students (accompanied by parents under 6 years old)

⑥Construction heavy equipment / machine tool experience meeting [No application required]

Look at and touch construction equipment, construction machinery, tools, etc.
Let's experience the charm of "construction industry"!

Target = 4 years old to elementary school students (accompanied by parents under 6 years old)

⑦Color the building that jumps out [No need to apply]

You can freely color the building on paper.
After coloring, let's make the building stand up and hold it.
10:00-16:00 (approximately 30 minutes, accepted at any time)
Target = 3 years old to elementary school students (accompanied by parents)

⑧Digital stamp rally

Gather stamps and get souvenirs around public buildings in and around the city hall!
Read the two-dimensional code in the event general information!

How to participate :On the day and time of the event, the reception of the atrium on the first floor of the city hall or for digital stamp rally
Read the two-dimensional codes installed in the public building.
If four or more stamps are collected, you will receive a souvenir at the atrium on the first floor of the city hall.

[From the Great Kanto Earthquake and Yokohama Ruins to Reconstruction]

It has been 100 years since the Great Kanto Earthquake that occurred on September 1, 1923.
In Yokohama, more than 35,000 houses collapsed and burned down, resulting in more than 26,000 people were dead or missing. Was.
In this lecture, we will examine how Yokohama, which has become a mountain of rubble, has been restored, the disaster situation at the time of the earthquake, and introduce reconstruction projects centered on public buildings.
