Policy on Promoting the Use of Wood in Yokohama City Buildings

 Based on the Act on Promotion of the Use of Wood in Buildings for Contributing to the Realization of a Decarbonized Society, etc., we have formulated a policy on promoting the use of wood in Yokohama City buildings.

Background

 In 2021, the National Law Concerning the Promotion of the Use of Wood in Public Buildings, etc. was amended as the "Law Concerning the Use of Wood in Buildings for Contributing to the Realization of a Decarbonized Society," and the scope of the promotion of wood use was expanded from public buildings to general buildings including private buildings.
 Based on the purpose of the law, Yokohama City revised the "Policy for Promoting the Use of Wood in Public Buildings in Yokohama City" to the "Policy for Promoting the Use of Wood in Yokohama City Buildings" in 2022, and is working to promote awareness of the use of wood in general buildings.

Enforcement of the revised law in October 2021 and formulated a basic policy for the country
