A narrow road is a road with a width of less than 4m and refers to a road used for general traffic. Narrow roads not only have traffic and environmental hygiene problems in our daily lives, but also hinder firefighting and rescue operations in the event of a disaster such as an earthquake or fire.

According to the Building Standards Law (hereinafter referred to as the "Law"), in Article 42, Paragraph 2 of the Act, if the width of the road in contact with the site of the building is less than 4m, 2m from the center of the road is regarded as a road and retreats. Article 44 of the Act stipulates that buildings (including gates, fences, etc.) must not be constructed for parts 2m from the center of the road.

In Motoichi, we enacted "the regulations about promotion of maintenance of Yokohama-shi narrow road" in 1995 as system to promote maintenance of part retreated by this law Article 42 Clause 2, and cooperation of citizens Under the road, we are working on widening maintenance projects for narrow roads. About obstacles such as existing fences, gates, retaining walls, buried objects (water stopcocks, basins, etc.) within 2m from the center of the road (retreat land), etc.
You can receive subsidies for removal and relocation costs.

If you accept narrow consultations after September 1, 2024, and do not have road-shaped maintenance (maintenance without steps) such as narrow roads and retreat sites, please note that there are items that are not eligible for further assistance Please give me.

It is paid when a telephone pole installed on a narrow road is relocated to a site other than retreat sites due to maintenance activities.

By pavement construction of city, we can perform road-like maintenance (maintenance without step) such as retreat sites.
In addition, if you pave yourself, you can also receive a subsidy for pavement costs.
