Return to the List of Renewable Energy Introduction

Bran's Centerkita

Condominium with SOLAMO, the first solar-powered gas hot water system in Kanagawa Prefecture.

◇Project Overview

Brands Centerkita is a 10-story reinforced concrete building that is located a 3-minute walk from Centerkita Station on the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line and Green Line.
A total of six houses on the 10th and 9th floors on the top floor are equipped with SOLAMO (Soramo) gas hot water system that uses solar heat.

◇Renewable energy systems adopted

□Gas hot water system using solar heat
At Brands Centerkita, two single dwelling units (2.7 kW) and heat collection panels for six dwelling units are installed on the roof. Solar heat is collected by a heat collection panel unit for each dwelling unit, and the collected heat is used to warm the water in the hot water storage tank (installed on the balcony of each dwelling unit) and used for hot water supply to kitchens and bath hot water.
The adoption of SOLAMO (door-to-door panel roof type) is a solar heat-based gas hot water system that uses solar heat, a clean renewable energy, for hot water supply, to reduce the amount of gas used and realizes eco-friendly and affordable living. This is the first case (* 1) introduction case in Kanagawa Prefecture by Brands Centerkita.

※1. As of April 2013, this is the first adoption of SOLAMO (door-to-door panel roof-mounted type) in Kanagawa Prefecture. (according to Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.)

◇Effects and characteristics of renewable energy introduction

(1) In "SOLAMO (door-to-door panel roof installation type)" collects solar heat by the rooftop heat collection panel on the roof, and the collected heat is used to warm the water in the hot water storage tank, and hot water can be used. When hot water is not enough due to the weather, hot water can be used at any time because the required amount is heated with the latent heat recovery type hot water heater "Eco Joez".
(2) By using solar heat, approximately 23% of the standard water supply used by a family of three people can be covered by solar heat, and combined with Eco Joez, a high-efficiency water heater that captures approximately 40% of annual gas consumption and CO2 emissions compared to conventional water heaters. (※3)
(3) Since a touch panel remote control that shows the usage status of solar heat is installed in each dwelling unit, it is possible to check the amount of CO2 reduction due to the use of solar heat and the amount of saved gas, etc., making it fun to work on energy saving.

※2.Assuming an average of about 360 liters of hot water per day when converted to hot water supply temperature of 40 degrees
※3.Estimation conditions: Compared to conventional heat source equipment, three family members, 80 m2 apartment (RC structure), and the system is installed at an elevation angle of 55° heat catalyst distribution pipe 30 m, and the bath heat recovery function is used outside of summer. The annual load is 13.01GJ for hot water supply, 1.45 GJ for bath heat retention, and 7.75GJ for floor heating. Does not include CO2 emissions from power for operating thermolytic circulation pump.
