Announcement of evacuation information, etc. using "alert level"

How to communicate evacuation information for floods and landslides will change.

Following the damage caused by Typhoon No. 19 in 2019, the Cabinet Office considered measures against storm and flood damage countermeasures, and the revised Basic Law on Disaster Countermeasures was enforced on May 20, 2021, and the name of evacuation information at the alert level was changed.

Details of "Vigilance Level"

The following table shows the details of the "Vigilance Level".

Early Warning Information

 

Note 1: Various types of information are not always announced in the order of alert levels 1 to 5. The situation may change suddenly.
Note 2: Warning level equivalent information: Designated river flood forecasts, heavy rain warnings, landslide disaster warning information, etc. announced by the national and prefectural governments are used as reference for residents to take voluntary evacuation actions. It is provided as "alert level equivalent information".
Note 3: Emergency safety assurance: When it is known that a disaster has actually occurred or is likely to occur, it will be issued to the extent possible.

Dissemination of evacuation information from Yokohama

From Yokohama City, evacuation information will be distributed, etc., specifying the "alert level" and "actions to be taken" by means of distribution such as emergency bulletin mail, disaster prevention information e-mail, Twitter, etc., which have been operating in the past.

<Actions to be taken>
If you live in the target area, "Evacuate all from dangerous places."
If it is difficult to evacuate to evacuation sites, take measures such as temporarily evacuating to the second floor or higher of the building (room opposite the cliff).

Even if you live outside the target area, be careful of low land inundation, river flooding and flooding, and landslide disasters, and check the latest weather information on TV, radio, and the Internet.
