Outline
The Ichigao Yokoana Burial Mounds consist of a total of 19 side-hole tombs, 12 groups A and 7 groups B, made from the late 6th century to the late 7th century. Excavations were carried out in Showa 8 (1933) and 1956. Relics such as swords and earthenware were found in the square in front of the entrance of the Yokoana Tomb, called the front yard, and it is thought that some rituals were held to worship the dead. In addition, various forms are seen in the structure inside of each side tomb, indicating that it has gradually changed with the times. Preservation and maintenance of Group A in 1983 and Group B was carried out in 1994.
