Thanks to you, the eleventh Aoba inhabitant of a ward marathon event had 12:52 on July 22, 2024 and reached capacity.
Thank you for the first time participants, past participants, and many applications! We look forward to seeing you on the day.
We will continue to send fun information about the tournament through this page!

We hold Aoba inhabitant of a ward marathon which counts the eleventh this year on Sunday, November 24.
Yuko Arimori has also been selected as the tournament ambassador this year! On the day of the tournament, we will rush to the venue and deliver strong and hot support to everyone!
Let's enjoy the exhilaration of running through Aoba Ward with the warm support of local children waiting along the roadside and Neighborhood Associations Neighborhood Association!
Applications for participation will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from 7:00 am on Monday, July 22, so please apply as soon as possible!
We look forward to your participation in this tournament to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Aoba constituency system!

Purpose of the tournament

While enjoying the rural scenery, we will run safely on public roads, promote sports and health promotion of inhabitants of the ward, and enliven the entire Aoba Ward by supporting the tournament with the entire inhabitants. In addition, this year, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aoba Ward Organization, and we will work with various partners such as companies, universities, various organizations, volunteers, and other organizations to excite the Aoba and the tournament.

※There is a gateway at 5 km from the start (time limit: 40 minutes from start)

Capacity

Eligibility for participation

Those who satisfy all of the following (1) to (3)
(1) Living, working or attending school in Aoba Ward
(2) 18 years old or older as of November 24, 2024 (on the day of the tournament)
(3) You can run 10 kilometers in less than 70 minutes

Participation fee

5,000 yen
※A separate fee will be charged.

  • A certificate of commendation will be awarded to the 1st to 3rd place for men and women in total.
  • The winners will receive the right to run the "Yokohama Marathon 2025" (full marathon, Minatomirai 7km run, participation fee paid).
  • We will prepare luxurious gifts from the tournament sponsors.
  • A commemorative gift will be prepared for all participants.

Mr. Yuko Arimori, Ambassador

[Profile]
Born in Okayama Prefecture. Graduated from Nippon Sport Science University. He lived in Aoba Ward, Yokohama City.
He won silver at the Barcelona Women's Marathon and a bronze medal at the Atlanta Olympics.
After the race in Atlanta, he left a comment, "I would like to praise myself."
He declared a professional at the end of the same year and retired in 2007. He is currently the representative director of the NPO Heart of Gold.
He has served as a vice chairman of the Japan Association of Sports Federations.
The first Japanese to receive the 2010 International Olympic Committee (IOC) Women's Sports Award.
