[Director General Column] Utilizing young people's ideas (February 1, 2024)

　One month before the New Year, during this time, there was an opportunity to get energy from the "generations living in the future."
　At the “Gathering to Celebrate 20-year-old Citizens” attended on January 8 (Mon./holiday), the venue was full of gorgeous costumes and smiles rejoicing the reunion. I was very impressed by the firm progress of the Executive Committee and the "20-year-old vow". In Minami Ward, about 1,800 people are twenty years old. I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you who have reached a milestone in your life.
　On January 24 (Wednesday), a student from Yokohama Municipal High School observed a presentation of "It is an offer to Yokoso Student" to examine local issues. This is a regional revitalization project that the school has been conducting since 2015, and has also worked on issues (offer) from the Minami Ward Office. I regarded the local issues as my own and proposed a solution from the perspective of high school students, which was very helpful.
　I was reassuring to see the dependable figure of the younger generation who will support the Minami WardMinami Ward in the future. I will do my best to create a ward that walks with the local people so that I will not lose to my young power.
