This is the 130-year history video of the Yokohama Channel, created in commemoration of the first modern water supply in Japan and celebrating its 130th anniversary.
Since its establishment, it has overcome many difficulties with the cooperation of citizens, including major damage such as the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Great Yokohama Air Raid, and responding to rapid population growth.

This video was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the modern water supply, and reproduces the construction at the time under the guidance of H.S Palmer, the creator of the modern water supply. The inspiring scene of 1887, when water taken from Tsukui-cho, Sagamihara-shi poured from the faucet in Yokohama.

To protect the clear stream of the Doshi River, Yokohama City purchased about one-third of the forest of Michishi Village. This section introduces the role of water source recharge forests and the cultivation of the Shimizu Gen recharge forest managed by Water Works Bureau throughout the year.
