This is a historical image of the 130th year of the Yokohama Channel, created in commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the modern water supply in Yokohama and the milestone of 130 years.
Since its establishment, we have overcome many difficulties with the cooperation of citizens, including major damage such as the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Yokohama Air Raid, and responding to rapid population growth.
Water supply that has supported the development of the city of Yokohama with "shadows" ... Please take a look at its trajectory.

This video was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the modern water supply, and reproduces the construction at that time under the guidance of H.S Parmer, the creator of modern water supply. An impressive scene of 1887 when water taken from Tsukui-cho, Sagamihara-shi fell down from the faucet in Yokohama.

In order to protect the clear stream of the Doshi River, Yokohama City purchased about one-third of the forest in Doshi Village. This section introduces the role played by water source recharge forests and the year-round cultivation of the Shimizu source recharge forest managed by Water Works Bureau.
