5,000 yen (upper limit) will be subsidized for each sterilization operation of "cats without an owner".
Target: Yokohama citizens and Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations
Target animals: "cats without owners" inhabiting the city where surgery was performed at a registered animal hospital between March 1, 2024 and February 28, 2025.

（５） Notes Payment will be made to the applicant's account approximately 3 to 4 months after applying for.

1 Selection of animal hospital

　Please select a veterinary clinic that will carry out surgery from the "Cat Sterile Castration Surgery Promotion Business Registered Animal Hospital" (PDF: 154KB).
　Please make an appointment for surgery by telephone in advance, and tell us that you will apply for a subsidy from Yokohama City.

2 Application documents

（１） In addition to the window of Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division in each ward, you can download it from the following.

（２） Perform sterilization castration surgery and ear cutting at a registered veterinary clinic, and after the operation, the “sterilization castration operation certificate” and “receipt” stated at the veterinary clinic after the operation.

　Fill out the cat's individual number in the "Certificate of Sterile Castration Surgery" and prepare a copy of the receipt.

　In addition, the “Sterile Castration Surgery Implementation Certificate” must be filled out in the applicant in advance and sent to the registered animal hospital at the time of the sterilization castration operation.

（３） Take a color photo that shows the characteristics of the target cat after the surgery and the ear cut (the camera must be prepared by the applicant).
　If it is difficult to take photos after surgery, please consult a veterinary clinic.

3 Application method　
　Please prepare the application documents and apply at the window of Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division, ward or Yokohama Animal Protection Center.
　Please keep a copy of the application form in a safe place until the subsidy is transferred.

　It is also possible for proxy/agent to apply (a power of attorney is required).
　Applications cannot be made by mail, fax, or e-mail.

4 Grant (non-grant) decision of subsidy　

　We mail subsidy grant decision letter of advice (or subsidy non-grant decision letter of advice) to applicant from Yokohama-shi animal protection center.

　(Approximately 2 to 3 months after application)

　In about one month thereafter, a subsidy will be paid to the applicant's account (it takes about 3 to 4 months from application to payment).
　※It may take some time to pay during the year-end and New Year holidays or when applications are concentrated.

3 application forms (1 original copy, 2 copies)
　※No seal on the application form is required.
　※seal is required to delegate the application. If you want to correct the error, you will also need a correction mark.

2 Breakdown of Application Amount (1 copy)

　Required for two or more animals.

3 Power of Attorney

　Required for proxy/agent application.
　seal with the same vermilion mark as the application form is required.

4 Surgery implementation certificate issued by a registered animal hospital (original)

　Follow the steps below to create a document.
　（１） Obtain an operation certificate form and fill in the applicant's Address, name, Phone number, hair color and pattern of the target cat, and location of the target cat.
　（２） Submit to a veterinary clinic at the time of surgery.
　（３） After surgery, ask them to be issued as a certificate already stated in the veterinary clinic.
　（４） Enter the cat's individual number so that all cats applying for at the same time will be consecutive numbers.
※The location of cats must be filled up to the lot number.

5 Receipt issued by a registered animal hospital (original copy and 1 copy)

　Be sure to confirm that the address is the applicant's full name and there is no error when you receive the receipt.

6 Color photo of the target cat

　Please prepare at least one size of L size (8.9 x 12.7cm) 8.9 x 12.7cm) or more.

　After surgery, the characteristics of the entire individual, such as the entire head after the surgery, the hair color and pattern of the face and body can be confirmed.

7 Identification documents (original)

　Issued by a public institution with your current address.
　In the case of a proxy/agent application, the applicant's identity verification document (original copy) and proxy/agent identity verification document (original) are required.

　※proxy/agent is not a Yokohama citizen.
