Measures for Abandoned Vehicles

　Abandoned vehicles not only impair the aesthetics of the city, but also have various adverse effects on the area, such as inducing illegal dumping.
　In Yokohama-shi, we perform removal, processing of abandoned car based on "the regulations (outside site) about prevention of outbreak such as Yokohama-shi abandoned car and sinking ship and appropriate processing" (enforced in October 1991).
　About car left on roads to manage in city, we investigate owners of car based on reports from citizens and let owner remove vehicle whose owner was found. In addition, Yokohama-shi removes and disposes of thing whose owner is unknown.

　When selling a self-driving car or scrapping it, a prescribed procedure is required. When releasing it, do not neglect the procedure, but handle it responsibly until the end.
　Also, when the owner changes, be sure to complete the name change procedure at the Local Transportation Bureau or the Light Automobile Inspection Association. If the name is not properly changed, both vehicles may be used for crime, or ultimately become abandoned autonomous vehicles and may be required to be removed as owners.

　Once a car is left unattended, it will take a lot of effort and time to remove it, so manage it properly so that it is not left on a regular basis.

・Clean up the garbage on the premises frequently.
　If an unknown car is parked on your premises, it is important to deal with it as soon as possible. Please pay close attention to land management on a daily basis so that it is not determined that "it is okay to leave it here."
