Marine pollution caused by plastic waste has become a global problem. Yokohama City will hold an event for elementary school students during the Environment Month in June to think about marine pollution caused by plastic waste. On the day of the event, we offer programs that children can enjoy and learn, such as work and concerts.

13:00 to 16:00 on Saturday, June 17, 2023 (reception starts at 12:30) Atrium on the first floor of Yokohama City Hall (Address: 6-50-10 Honmachi, Naka-ku, Yokohama)

Program
[Part 1] 13:00-14:00 Talk & Work by Takeshi Osumi Co., Ltd.
We invite businesses that are conducting environmental analysis surveys on rivers and the sea, and enjoy thinking about where the plastic garbage that flows into the sea comes from and why it has flowed into the sea with work and games. .
About Takeshi Osumi, Inc.
Born and raised in Yokohama. When I was a child, I ran around the wilderness with a boy scout, and since I became an adult, I enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain climbing, camping, canoeing, and cycling. In 2003, he became the representative of Osumi Co., Ltd. and conducted environmental consulting for customers. We will also focus on environmental education and social contribution activities to preserve the rich global environment for the next generation.

[Part 2] 14:10-15:00 Special LIVE by the marine litter instrument group Granzoku
We invite an art group that manipulates "marine garbage instruments" made from marine garbage picked up by walking across the coasts nationwide as the main raw material, and think about garbage and resources together while enjoying music.
About the marine litter instrument group
An art group that thinks about the boundary between garbage and resources through musical instruments made from marine garbage based on the concept of marine garbage x ethnic instruments. The high quality of the instrument and the ensemble have been receiving feedback not only from Japan but also from overseas. Formed in 2020.
