When will your ward change?
Wards that will be changed from October 2024 (the preceding nine wards)
Asahi Ward, Izumi Ward, Isogo Ward, Kanazawa Ward, Konan Ward, Sakae Ward, Seya Ward, Totsuka Ward, Naka Ward
Ward that will be changed from April 2025 (started in all cities)
Aoba Ward, Kanagawa Ward, Kohoku Ward, Tsuzuki Ward , Tsurumi Ward, Nishi Ward, Hodogaya Ward, Midori Ward, Minami Ward
How does it change?
In addition to those with the plastic mark, those that have been collected by burnable garbage until now can be used as plastic resources.
Please put it together in one bag as "plastic resources".
Items that can or cannot be used as plastic resources
What can be used as plastic resources
Plastic containers and packaging
Items that contain items, wrapped items, items that are no longer needed after taking out the contents.
(Example) Items with plastic marks, such as bags of sweets, egg packs, tubes, etc.
Plastic products
Plastics with the longest side of less than 50cm
(Example) Toothbrushes, buckets, handkerchiefs, etc.
Items that cannot be used as plastic resources
Some products may interfere with recycling in the recycling process.
Including materials other than plastic
Example: Hangers containing metal, laundry scissors, rubber gloves, etc.
It is more than 50 centimeters when spread.
Example: Vinyl strings, sheets, etc.
The longest side is 50 centimeters or more
Example: Costume cases, etc. (subject to oversized garbage)
Thick and hard
Example: Cutting board, etc.
Small home appliances
Example: Shavers using rechargeable batteries, game consoles, etc.
Put it in a small household appliance collection box or take it out in a separate bag on the day of burnable garbage.
How to Dispose of Plastic Resources
- Please put it in a transparent or translucent bag so that you can see the contents.
- Please take it out to the collection point by 8:00 am on the day of collection of "plastic resources".

Why does the separation of plastic change?
In order to reduce greenhouse gases (CO2) generated from the incineration of plastics, burnable garbage collects and recycles products made of plastic only, together with plastic containers and packaging.

Distribution time varies depending on the ward where you live.
