With the enforcement of the "Plastic Resource Recycling Law", "Plastic products" can now be recycled in the same way as "plastic containers and packaging."
In Yokohama-shi, we expand separation, recycling of plastic garbage in nine wards of the city from October, 2024 and in all 18 wards from April 2025.
The purpose of this change in sorting items is to reduce greenhouse gases generated by incineration of plastics. We will continue to work on what we can to realize a decarbonized society. I would like to ask for your cooperation.
The following is information on how to separate and dispose of plastic waste after changing the separation.
Changes in separation of plastic waste
Plastic disposal procedures will change in 9 wards of the city from October 2024 and in all 18 wards from April 2025.
"Plastic products" and "plastic containers and packaging" are used as "plastic resources" in the same bag
You will be able to put it together.
How to put out plastic resources
Put it in a transparent or translucent bag so that the contents can be seen as in other garbage, and the collection date of "plastic resources" ※For
Please take it to the collection area by 8 a.m. Do not double the bag as it interferes with recycling.
※The current collection date for "plastic containers and packaging" is the collection date for "plastic resources".
What are plastic containers and packaging?
This product is no longer needed after taking out the product, wrapped, or the contents of the product.
It has a plastic mark, such as candy bags, trays, tubes, etc.
What are plastic products?
Newly targeted "plastic products" are made of plastics with the longest side of less than 50 cm.
Outdoor supplies such as toothbrushes, buckets, dust and planters, CD cases and cushioning materials.
What should not be included in plastic resources
Do not put the following in "plastic resources" as it may hinder recycling and collection.
Please note that some are made of plastic should not be included in "plastic resources".
