How to dispose of non-pure battery packs for cordless vacuum cleaners
The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of the Environment have announced the danger of ignition and disposal methods for non-pure battery packs for cordless vacuum cleaners.
For those who have the target products
There are many fire accidents that seem to have occurred from non-pure battery packs that can be attached to Dyson Co., Ltd.'s cordless vacuum cleaner imported by Sumitomo Shoten Co., Ltd. and Rowa Japan Co., Ltd. .
Regarding the collection or disposal method, please respond as follows.
Please note that the disposal method differs depending on the product.
Items associated with business activities fall under industrial waste, so please dispose of them as industrial waste.

Rechargeable batteries other than the target products should be placed in yellow collection cans (small rechargeable battery recycling boxes) installed by JBRC.

Hand order 1 :Discharge by vacuum cleaner operation, please.
Please check the website of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and carry out discharge by vacuum cleaner operation according to your order.
As a result of verification by the Japan Institute of Technology and Evaluation, it was confirmed that the battery pack was safely discharged by vacuum cleaner operation and did not lead to fire.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the risk of fire does not increase by operating a vacuum cleaner.

Step 2 :Please bring it to the collection office of each ward.
Regarding the battery pack of Sumitomo Shoten Co., Ltd., since the company has already gone bankrupt, please discharge electricity by vacuum cleaner operation and bring it to the collection office in each ward.
