Emergency development area for specific urban regeneration

On January 20, 2012, the existing "Yokohama Station Area" and "Yokohama Minatomirai area" were integrated on the "Specific Urban Renewal Emergency Development Area" established to strengthen the international competitiveness of cities. The "Yokohama Central / Rinkai Area", which expanded the Kitanakadori district, etc., has been designated as a specific city regeneration emergency maintenance area.
By regional designation, development can be implemented while utilizing benefits such as tax incentives, financial support, and deregulation. (Conditions available)

Benefits of Regional Designation

Tax incentives※

•Income tax and income taxes: 50% increase in amortization for buildings that have been maintained
•Registration and license tax: 0.4% → 0.2%
•Real estate acquisition tax: Tax standard 3/5 Deduction
•Property tax and city planning tax: 5-year tax base 3/5 deduction
※The applicable condition is to be certified by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of the Private Urban Renewal Project Plan.

  • Private use of unused energy in sewage

Acceleration of urban planning decisions necessary for implementation of private urban development projects

  • Reduced the processing period for approval by the Minister for 3 months → 45th
