Purpose of Establishment

It is set up based on the same law to discuss development activities or permission for building activities in the urbanization adjustment area based on the provisions of the City Planning Act, and to make decisions on requests for examination.
The committee members are composed of seven members appointed from the fields of law, economy, urban planning, architecture, public health or administration, and their term is two years.

Reasons for Establishment

(Development Review Committee)
Article 78 A development review committee shall be established in prefectures and designated cities, etc., in order to make a decision on a request for examination prescribed in the preceding paragraph of Article 50, Paragraph 1 and other matters that belong to its authority under this Act.
2. The Development Review Committee shall be organized by five or more members.
(3) The members shall have excellent experience and knowledge in law, economy, city planning, architecture, public health or administration, and who can make fair decisions regarding public welfare. Appointed by the head of the city.

About organization and administration of Yokohama-shi development examination committee, it depends on place that "Yokohama-shi development examination committee regulations" (outside site) other than thing to prescribe in City Planning Act.

Consultation and application window

Services such as consultation pertaining to construction, residential land, and roads, building confirmation applications, development and residential building permission are performed by the Building Guidance Department and Residential Land Examination Department.

Of the permission standards in the urbanization adjustment area, location regulations are stipulated in each item of Article 34 of the City Planning Act (and Article 36, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of the Enforcement Order), of which Article 34 of the Act As standard about 14 (and the enforcement order Article 36, Paragraph 1, Item 3 ho), we have established the "Yokohama City Development Examination Committee Proposal Standard".
